Jordan Ermilio; Ph.D., RPCV, Director Center for Humanitarian Engineering and International Development engages students and faculty in unique learning opportunities that reinforces engineering fundamentals, a commitment to life-long learning, and service to society. Built on the success of the Villanova Engineering Service-Learning program, this new center integrates curriculum, research and outreach within the college and creates interdisciplinary opportunities within the university. At the present time, the center includes 16 program partners in 12 countries where students, faculty and alumni provide technical support in the form of engineering design services, research on sustainable development, capacity building trainings, and innovative design of humanitarian technologies. This presentation will provide a program overview and will share an annual update on projects.
